Agents Petersen and Ortega

CLEA DATA FILE

Agent’s Job Speciality:

  • Investigation

Identity:

  • Corey Petersen
  • Sofia Ortega

CLEA Classification:

  • Agent/Species Beta hybrid

Special Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Bacteria  Z  ability – Their minds are telepathically linked

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • Same weaknesses as a “normal” human

Notes/History

Ortega and Petersen were both originally part of the internationally security force, Task Force Z (TFZ), that controlled Terror Island.  When a science facility went dark they were assigned to fly over to see what had happened only when they got there the entire place had been trashed.

Since they were in a radio dead spot they decided to return to base only as they lifted off on the Species Beta known as Brutes caused their helicopter to crash. Unwittingly they had actually stumbled into a civil war by the Species Beta inhabitants.  No human was even aware that such a system existed as they simply regarded the varied creatures, as creatures and never considered any social order.

Though the helicopter was downed they were not caught by the brutes as they were rescued by a small species Beta resistance force, that would later become known as Gaia. (see Gaia for full story.) In order to facilitate communication in the group the pair become telepathically linked to the entire group and each other thanks to Baryolax “Barry” Xigon.

From the group the pair learned that the Brutes needed to depose the “Forest Queen” to win the help and had help from the Venator. Corey and Sophia though know that the Venator could not get on the island without assistance from someone high up within the TF Z officers. They then realised that they had been attacked, since if they got back to base and reported what they had seen they would expose everything.

With the brutes all but controlling two thirds of the island the group decide to rescue the Forest Queen and then escape the island.  Making it to a TF Z base on foot would be impossible so that was the only logical choice. Against all odd the entire group managed to rescue the Queen and her guardian and then to get off the island they re-floated a small boat that Sofia had seen from the air during her patrols.

Being TF Z officers meant that Sofia and Corey were aware of the naval patrols and their schedules and that allowed them to get clear of the Terror Island waters. From their they headed to Australian and travelled inland up a river until they found a secluded spot. All the species Beta were dropped off and Sophia and Corey then sailed back to the coast.

Following this they arrived at a CLEA facility and decided to turn themselves over, in order to report the Venator being on the island and corruption in the TF Z. They however did not mention they had been helped by other Species Beta. Though CLEA had no direct control over anything that happened on the island being an international agency dealing with crime, TF Z commanders could not ignore the report and in due course rooted out the corruption.

Following the legal cases, Sofia and Corey felt they could not return to military service and instead chose to join CLEA.  Must to their frustration, Barry’s gift was supposed to wear off over time but hadn’t and they were stuck with hearing each other’s thoughts.Had they not asked to become partners in the agency this would have been a huge problem.

Despite never mentioning the other group, their secret in regards to them was learned so when some Species Beta, illegally brought to the mainland escaped they were personally asked by  Chief Joshua Hunter to recruit their “special” friends to help.  They did this and the others at first felt their trust had been broken but provided help as they felt the owed the two CLEA agents.

Following the assignment Joshua Hunter now started assigning the pair to some specialised investigations. They wondered why they were getting singled out for particular work. That was when the CLEA chief hit them with another bombshell. He knew about their telepathic link and felt that such an advantage could be very useful to deal with certain dangerous criminals. However he agreed that he would never make their unique ability public knowledge and keep it high level.

As an investigative pair, being able to read each others minds enables them to rapidly change tactics in the heat of the moment which often leads to success in arresting some tricky criminals, who are left wondering how they were outsmarted.

Astroman and Neeyla

CLEA DATA FILE

Team Identities:

  • Astroman – Shaun Brient
  • Neeyla – Neeyla Rev Vynex

CLEA Classification:

  • Tech Augmented
  • Alien

Special Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Shaun lost his right eye in a fight and had it replaced with a cybernetic replacement which allows him to see in the IR and UV spectrum. It also provides him with targeting information.
  • Shaun is “street smart” and very resourceful which has enabled him to trade and obtain old alien tech and weapons (although still more advanced that ours).
  • Neeyla was once a Lawgiver (police officer by our standards) and has received military training and weapons handling
  • Neeyla is a Kraalan which results in having attributes more stronger that humans. They have an extended foot and walk on their toes and are capable of leaping great distances.
  • Neeyla also has great tolerance for cold.

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • Shaun cannot compete directly with aliens who have superior tech.
  • Neeyla comes from a cold planet. In warmer environs her body overheats and she can succumb to heatstroke. The tubes on her outfit act as a heat exchange taking heat from her body. This means without her suit she can get in trouble fast.
  • Neeyla is wanted for murder. Though her own people no longer chase her she has a bounty on her head of a substantial amount.

Rap Sheet/Criminal Traits:

  • Murder (Neeyla states she has been framed)
  • Theft (both)
  • Assault (both)

Notes/History

Shaun is another of many human victims that were taken by the Quarrud-Xaiqrons to be sold as slaves. He was one of the more lucky ones who managed to escape. Whilst others humans also did the same and headed back to Earth, his journey has been more difficult. For a start he took a more direct route through some of the more dangerous sectors of our galaxy and whilst other humans were lucky enough to get hold of advanced alien tech and transport, Shaun had to learn to fight, trade and gamble his way across the galaxy.

Whilst he would never choose to steal from an honest man or alien, on his journey home, Shaun has made a habit of conning intergalactic criminals and has earned a reputation as something of a rogue. Using the name Astroman, when he shows up at a trading post, trouble is not really far behind. In fact one of his many altercations led to him losing his right eye. In typical Shaun style though he adapted and overcame and ended up replacing it with an artificial cyber eye. This enables him to see in IR and UV light and he had it adapted to help him use it as a target system for his blade rifle. Shaun’s partnership with Neeyla began during another of his “trades” at a space station.

Neeyla had for her working life been a Lawgiver for her people. She maintained the peace on the Kralaan home world and its colonies. She however was too good at her job for she found evidence of corruption in the Lawgivers. Before she could get to the source, her captain was murdered and she was framed by his superior, Commander Nubylan Voo Tennil.

Murder for a Kralaan would result in one outcome – execution and with the irrefutable evidence against her and the testimony of Nubylan Voo Tennil, Neeyla realised the only way to save her life was to go on the run. It took her some time to escape Kralaan space and though the Lawgivers would not follow her beyond the border a bounty was instead placed on her head and Galaxy Force was notified of a murderer on the run.

Neeyla’s best course of action after leaving home space was to keep as low a profile as necessary and hope nobody recognised her. This is how she ended up on a trading post working behind a bar, serving the type of scum that she would have normally been arresting if they had been Kralaan space.

Having been a Lawgiver, Neeyla could recognise trouble when it appeared and she Shaun came into the bar that was enough for her to expect the worse and she was not far wrong. Shaun had actually managed to swindle a small time crime boss out of some money and naturally the victim was none too pleased. The problem was that the crime boss was a Brolithan and a well as being big and strong they knew how to keep a grudge.

After Sean had stolen from him, the Brolithan had dispatched a number of his people to teach Shaun a lesson. As he sat on his stool consuming a beverage, the hired help finally found him. Shaun tried to talk his was out of a situation and even offered to pay the money back but they preferred payment in blood and proceeded to  beat the hell out of him.

Neeyla knew seven ways to bring a Brolithan down but knew if she intervened she would get noticed. Ten minutes of fighting later and she could not stand idly by. The part of her that was still Lawgiver refused to ignore what was happening. Without stopping to think about the consequences she leapt over the bar and proceeded to take out the Brolithan mercs. Other clientèle in the bar considered this an open invitation for a bar brawl and the whole place erupted in a mass fight. Copious consumption of alcohol meant it did not really matter who was fighting who or what for.

In the middle of the chaos Shaun decided to slip away. Knowing security would arrive any time, he hid himself in a position where he could see the bar entrance as he wanted to know the fate of the Brolithan mercs. He hoped they would be arrested but after security moved in, they came out, with the bar tender in chains. This gave him quite a conundrum. She had saved him and though he did not know why the mercs had been allowed to take her, he did not consider the outcome to be all that good.

From a safe distance he followed the posse of five and then when the opportunity arose he attacked. The element of surprise served him well. Two of the Brolithan were felled with shots fired from the Rifle Blade. Another two he cut with the blade part of the weapon and the remaining one he simply hit with the weapon itself to stun the merc.

She did not seem best pleased to see Shaun again and protested at the trouble he had got her in but it was no time to argue. There was no time to unchain her either as he made his way to the transport hub and looked for his ship, another of his many “trades”.

Once at a safe distance from the space station he then managed to unchain the bar tender but instead of exchanging names she hurled abuse at him. Eventually she calmed down and he learned she was Neeyla and had a huge bounty on her head. Though if he had been more unscrupulous than normal he might have considered her a descent meal ticket but she had helped him and by the sound of her story she was in more trouble than him. Shaun therefore made her a promise that he would take her to his home and there she would not be chased, albeit he was not entirely sure what the people of Earth might think of an alien.

Though at first they were more like sparring partners,  in time the pair came to rely on each other and develop a respect that changed the animosity to more like sibling rivalry.

Eventually they made it back to Earth but soon found life their quite dull after what they had experienced. There were the times they jumped in and acted as “heroes” and that made for some excitement but it never seemed enough. For this reason they chose to return to space adventuring.

The first step was to prove to the Kralaan people that Neyla was innocent and once that was done, she was free to go home but instead she decided to remain with Shaun. Since he had helped her, Neeyla persuaded her government to speak on behalf of Shaun to get his record cleared.

Galaxy Force who handled the intergalactic law in that sector accepted the argument from the Kralaan Government that Shaun had done what he did out of the need to survive having been kidnapped. Now with both of the names cleared, they chose to become bounty hunters.

Their work has seen them come to Earth on a number of occasions for work purposes, and other occasions when some of Shaun’s criminal past has come seeking payback but each time he had outsmarted  them.

CLEA also believes the pair have crossed paths away from Earth with the Galaxy Force team known to Earth and Vanguard.

Notes/History

CLEA’s “capture” of Aoto and Yazuki, is one of those events that could be considered a milestone because it allowed the agency to obtain valuable intelligence regarding Citadel.

After agents stumbled across a Citadel operation whilst on another investigation, CLEA chief Joshua Hunter decided to conduct a raid. Though many of Citadel’s people were able to slip, away, agents managed to take two teenagers into their custody along with their high tech battle suit.

At first when debriefed the pair would not explain themselves and answer to why they had fired at CLEA. They were overly loyal to Citadel and so a new approach was tried an a psychiatrist was brought in. By the time she had undone the “programming” Citadel had done on them, the true horror of Citadel’s operations were finally revealed.

According to the pair they had run away from home and ended up on the streets of New Tokyo. As some stage Citadel had then snatched them and over a period of time had bent them to their will. Once they had reached the stage where they believed all the lies their Citadel handlers told them they were put in a program to test some experimental alien tech.

Wanting to do anything for their masters, Aoto and Yazuki wanted nothing more than to do their part even after discovering others had died in the same experiment. They were simply told that the others had died as they did not want to please Citadel, and such was the brainwashing they accepted the explanation.

With Aoto and Yazuki the experiment was a success and the alien suits were successfully interfaced with their minds. They could now use the battlesuit as well as the previous aliens that it had once belonged to.The interface units though were very much a work in progress and before the scientist could reach the stage of totally reversed engineering the technology CLEA had performed the raid.

Since the suits bear a very strong resemblance to those worn by the teenagers with the Red Shift team, CLEA would later conclude that Citadel had obtained more than a pair of suits and that they had tried the experiments again elsewhere.

Freed of Citadel’s influence it took a lot of work from CLEA personnel to remove their programming. After the pair finally realised they had been used as little more than guinea pigs and were considered by Citadel as disposable, the pair wanted to use the battlesuits to have their revenge.

There were quite a few CLEA agents that thought the same, disgusted at the idea that Citadel was using children in its experiments. There seemed no end to how low they would stoop.

Being under-age though meant CLEA could not permit teenagers to become vigilantes. However simply being told they were not allowed would not stop them. Since the pair would never reveal their full names (only learned much later), CLEA had many problems in trying to trace their parents.

In truth neither one wanted to go back home, so they decided to try and delay the agency as much as possible, buying as much time as possible to come up with a plan to escape CLEA custody and steal their suits. To this day it is suspected that some CLEA agents sympathised with the teenagers and wanted to give them the opportunity to teach Citadel a lesson and so had assisted them. Proof though has never been found though.

By the time CLEA supervisors realised they had escaped it was too late. Whilst the agency considered trying to recapture them, provoking a pair of angry teenagers in mobile weapons systems might cause more problems than its worth. Intelligence now suggest that as well as pursuing Citadel the teens have chosen to deal with other criminals, despite their age and it would seem that the hero community has decided to watch over them.

Pulsar and Quasar

CLEA DATA FILE

Asset of:

Team Identities:

  • Pulsar – Hans Konig
  • Quasar – Loretta Woodard

CLEA Classification:

  • Alpha Superior/Tech Augmented

Special Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Alpha ability – Both Quasar and Pulsar have the means to absorb almost any known energy and redirect it at time of their choosing.
  • Alpha ability – Both are capable of levitation/flight
  • Tech Augmentation – Both Quasar and Pulsar have been given full bodysuits which protect them from projectile, bladed and energy weapons.

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • Standard negative problems associated with all Alphas
  • Suits provide no protection from mental attack
  • They can only store one energy at a time. To store a different type they need to discharge the other

Rap Sheet/Criminal Traits:

  • N/A

Notes/History

Quasar and Pulsar are the result of an experiment by a small rogue group of Eopua. Whilst the Eopua had put in plans to evolve humans over time, a small group of them feared that humans would not be ready in time to take on the mantle of protecting the galaxy. To this end, against their leaders wishes they decided to experiment on humans to try and make them evolve their Alpha abilities a lot quicker.

Using advanced disguises two members of the rogue Eopua science team visited Earth and pretended to be a human couple. They visited several orphanages under the pretence that they wanted to adopt children as they were unable to have any of their own. For their experiment they needed to babies or toddlers, nothing any older. Whilst one of the Eopua distracted the carers the other would scan the children. They needed a specific genetic sequence for their experiment. Though the Eopua had the means to “grow” a human clone, that was not suitable for use since humans were seldom “perfect” as there was always a little randomness. They therefore needed two actual humans that fitted their needs and in Hans and Loretta they found what they were looking for.

Having obtained the children, the Eopua scientists brought them back to their facility and started their work. The process involved lots of genetic modification as they were growing up. Since they were under the care of the Eopua they had nothing to fear and regarded the aliens as their true parents. The scientists tried to give the children some sort of “normal” human upbringing and educated them throughout their early years. From the outset they never hid the fact the children had been brought from another world, nor did they hide the fact that they were “special” and would have to one day return back to the planet.

As per their intention, the Eopua scientists were successful in giving the children Alpha abilities which started to manifest in their early teens. It was now that the scientists moved onto phase two and decided to teach the teenagers how to become one with their abilities, and in turn to become the best warriors humans would be capable of being.

When both reached the ages of twenty six, the Eopua started phase three of their experiment and return the pair to Earth. This was to be their practical test, to see how well they could use their gifts to protect others, the same work humans would need to perform if they were to protect the galaxy. After being deposited on Earth,  Hans and Loretta knew that would be the last time they would see their parents. They were aware that they would still be watched from afar but as far as they were concerned they were now on their own.

Despite the fact they had been taught all about Earth culture they had a hard time getting a grasp of things. For a start they had to learn how to blend in, since “heroes” were often targetted by villains so they had to avoid staying in their nice shiny suits when not needed or else they would end up with a bullseye on their backs. In time they managed to make the transition to human life and joined the hero community under the guise of Quasar and Pulsar.

Though accepted as as Heroes it took the pair a long time in deciding who they could trust and who they couldn’t this is why few people know their true history apart from the Phoenix Alliance.

In time though, with all the other heroes on Earth, the pair felt they lacked purpose. Therefore when they heard about Star Patrol, they chose to join the team and hopefully find something to give their lives true value.

Monsoon and Storm Chaser

CLEA DATA FILE

Team Identities:

  • Monsoon – Rodney Hollins
  • Storm Chaser – Jane Witner

CLEA Classification:

  • Alpha Superior
  • Totem Bearer

Special Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Alpha ability – whenever Rodney is affected by negative emotions he can create rain. The strength of the effect is determined by the strength of emotion. Mildly distressed by create a shower whilst intense anger can generate a storm.
  • Totem Bearer – Jane possesses a magical Totem that can modify water flow and redirect it.
  • Working together they achieve the greatest potential as Jane can give Rodney the “control” his abilities lack.

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • Jane cannot “create” rain.
  • Rodney’s abilities are linked to his moods so he does not have a huge amount of control
  • They don’t have as much potential separately.
  • Certain magic can prevent Jane’s totem from working.

Rap Sheet/Criminal Traits:

  • N/A

Notes/History

Whilst there are many Alpha Superiors who find the abilities a joy, to Rodney, for a long time they seemed a cure. When he learned he was an Alpha he saw the potential in what he could become albeit there was no guarantee he would ever become an Alpha Superior or if he did what “gift” he might receive. Then when his body started to transition from an Inferior to a Superior he considered that he would have preferred to remain more “normal”.

Rodney’s source of annoyance was the fact he gained an ability that was connected to his feelings, specifically negative ones. Whenever he was upset he or angry he could actually cause the heavens to open and generate a rain storm. People often joke that somebody who is upset is “under a rain cloud” but in Rodney’s case that was actually literal.

Because of his ability or as he considered it, an infliction, every time he went outside, even in summer he always ended up taking wet weather gear just in case someone made him angry. On one of his worst years New Tokyo recorded one of its highest recorded levels for rainfall. Though there were occasions he ended up helping other heroes, normally by putting out fires caused by collateral damage he never felt that there was much use for his gift, simply because it lacked control and any means to use it with finesse. This changed when he met Jane Witner.

Jane was just an ordinary nine-to-fiver in the city. Her family had moved from New Zealand to Australia when she was a child and in turn when she was older she had chosen to live and work in New Tokyo. She was not an Alpha and never imagined ever becoming one of those “heroes that was always in the media”. One thing she did like was collecting old jewellery. There were several small shops she liked to visit on the outskirts of the mega city and in a couple the owners knew her well. That meant they knew what she liked.

During one of those visits the owner showed her a new item that had been brought it. The piece was an old Maori necklace. Since she was descended from the Maori on her mothers side of the family she was often drawn to picking up anything Maori related. Offering her the necklace was therefore an easy sale for the shop owner.

After taking it home and leaving it in her collection for a few weeks, as it was so pretty she decided to start wearing it. Jane had no reason to suspect it was anything out of the ordinary until she went to fill the kettle and did not align it properly with the tap. As the water started to spray everywhere she reacted to correct the problem and the necklace glowed, at which point the water flow bent and aimed itself into the top of the kettle. Though she had seen what had happened with her own eyes she did not believe it and so deliberately tried to repeat the “accident”. The same thing happened, only this time she caught sight of the necklace glowing.

Over the next few days she did other experiments and found she could alter the flow of moving water. Curious as to why she was able to do this she started spending time at the library researching the necklace. Eventually after two months of consulting experts and reading many books she got an answer that would explain it. As the original shop owner had told her, the necklace was of Maori origin but not from New Zealand but from a small colony that had made a home on small island in the Pacific.

Though many people would assume such a place to be a small slice or paradise, there were times when such a place can become the complete opposite. Tropical storms created storm surges and flooding and on many occasions the people’s homes were washed away. They consulted their local spiritual leader who had mystical skills and asked him to do something. The man could do as they wanted but to do so would mean he needed to leave his mortal soul. In the best interest of his people he did this and created a Magical Totem, known as the Water Diviner.

According to the legend the Totem could only be used by a Maori and would allow them to command water, thus when the next floods came the village was protected as the Totem Bearer was able to divert both the rain and the flood waters out of harms way. How the Totem had come to leave the island was never recorded, although a suggestion in the book indicated that Western Settlers might have stolen it after raiding the island.

Having learned what she had, on any other day she would not have believed in magic but she had seen the necklace “work” with her own eyes. Jane was now left with the problem of what to do with it. Though she liked a “normal” life and had no desire to be a costumed adventurer, now that the necklace was in her hands she felt an obligation to use it for its ended purpose, namely to protect people, just like it had protected the village all those centuries back.

Since the necklace could only work with water that was already present, Jane felt that it was highly limited and despite wearing it all the time after nine months she never used it once in the service of others. This would change when a major dust up between superheroes and villains saw Rodney Hollins dragged into the fray. Following the battle, a news crew managed to get an interview with him, mainly because the other heroes left before they could get cornered by the press.

When asked why he had not been seen before and what his “super power” was, Rodney let it slip out this it was more a curse than a gift, mentioning that he could only make it rain when he was upset (at which point it started raining). Jane saw the interview although it did not make the prime time news. She saw Rodney as a potential “source” for water that she could use and believed they could help each other achieve far more.

It took her some time to track him down and though unconvinced at first, the eventually tried working together. That was when Jane’s idea came to fruition because Rodney could summon the rain and she could send it anywhere they needed, thus as a team they became greater than the sum of their parts.

Tigron and Oceline

CLEA DATA FILE

Asset of:

Team Identities:

  • Tigron (male Felanek)
  • Oceline (female Felanek)

CLEA Classification:

  • Alien

Special Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Acute senses of smell, hearing and sight.
  • Extremely agile
  • Skilled in unarmed combat
  • Skilled with weapons

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • The pair have a strong bond. Capturing one will enable the other to get caught.
  • The longer a fight goes on the more aggressive they get leading to tactical errors

Rap Sheet/Criminal Traits:

  • N/A

Notes/History

The Felanek come from the planet Thaigrer located at the edge of Eopua controlled space. They are one of a few humanoid feline races. Though they are known throughout the galaxy, CLEA has only ever recorded these two visiting Earth.

From Reuvant’s notes, the Felanek were pack animals before the evolved. After they started to stand upright and developed they still retained a familial bond between large groups of them. Towns a villages would therefore consist of individuals from the same social group.

This strong bond is why the Felanek hate the Quarrud Xiqrons, for over the course of several centuries the blue slavers have visited Thaigrer several times and taken some of the population with the intention of selling them as slaves. In doing this the blue alien have upset the very heirachey of Felanek society. In taking a few individuals they end up affecting the structure of an entire town due to breaking the kinship they share in their social groups.

This is why Felanek victims of the Quarrid Xiqrons who escape will often turn bounty hunter rather than return home. They see return as both an embarrassment and  a cause for more hardship by messing up a society which would have been forced to recover without them.

By becoming bounty hunters, Felanek refugees can get money to pay for weapons and transport and this in turn allows them to hunt their hated enemy at every opportunity. So determined are Felanek bounty hunters to make the Quarrid Xiqrons pay for what they have done to their people they will not stop until every last blue alien is dead.

The pair that visited Earth, Tigron and Oceline came to try and catch a criminal. Whilst they were here the detected a Quarrid Xiqrons incursion and ended up supporting Earth based heroes in repelling the raider. For their part in dealing with the threat they had earned the respect of many in the hero community albeit most “normal” people are unaware that the Felanek have ever visited, or any other alien for that matter.

In the times the pair have been back since that time, they have always been able to astonish our heroes and CLEA with their tenacity and determination. First of all the start of with guns and if they run out of ammo they revert to blades and should they lose them in a battle then they will continue fighting with their bare hands.

It is believed that after visiting Earth for the first time, the Tigron and Ocerine have also crossed paths with Vanguard and the Galaxy Force team.

Freight Train

CLEA DATA FILE

Asset of:

Identity:

  • Freight Train – Aleksi Hiltunen

CLEA Classification:

  • Tech Enhanced

Special Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Has a thin alien technology powered armoured suit that allows him to build up momentum and use to smash opponents and objects out of the way, not unlike a rhinoceros charge.
  • A forcefield generator protects the head from impact, effectively giving Aleksi a helmet made of energy

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • As suit its meant to be used in a head down forward momentum it is super strong from the waist up but less armoured lowered down.
  • If Aleksi cannot built up momentum he can easily be neutralised.
  • If the suit loses power his head has no protection and if that happens in a charging run he can effectively knock himself out on impact.

Rap Sheet/Criminal Traits:

  • Assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Property Damage

Notes/History

Citadel is no stranger to using humans as test subjects. As well as homeless and runaways another favourite source is through prison population. Such prisoners though do not come from civilised countries but instead from places where corruption is rife and for the right money Citadel can get all the test subjects they need.

It was is therefore surprising for an American prisoner to end up with the. Aleksi though was even more unusual for he sought out Citadel and volunteered to be a test subject. At the time he did this, Aleksi was serving a fifteen year sentence for armed robbery. Not wishing to rot in prison when an opportunity arose to break out he took it and went on the run.

Continuously being chased eventually started to wear him down so he reached out to some old contacts in the criminal world, looking for a way to “disappear.” Looking at the situation, the only way out they could see was through Citadel and so he made contact with them.

Only too willing to have a volunteer, after months of being held at one of their facilities they decided to use him as a guinea pig in one of their latest acquisitions, a piece of alien tech armor. One of the alien traders they had an agreement with had brought them a piece of armour normally used by the Bolivvar race for contest purposes. The giant aliens apparently liked to show their prowess in contests where too combatants crashed into one another, not unlike stags rutting. The last one standing was the winner.

Though Citadel had no use for “sport” armour initially they rethought the idea and decided to see if it could be modified into a weapon used by humans. This was what Aleksi was chosen for. Though the project never went anywhere in the end they chose to let Aleksi keep the armour and work as one of their retrieval assets.

In terms of raw  strength the armour makes Aleksi the most powerful asset they have in terms of physical strength. Though often used for lone missions, Citadel superiors tend to like Aleksi to be held back and used in a support role whereupon the charging powerhouse can turn the time of a confrontation in Citadel’s favour.

Pointe Man

CLEA DATA FILE

Asset of:

Identity:

  • Pointe Man – Amanda Ruiz

CLEA Classification:

  • Tech Augmented

Special Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Amanda’s suit allows her to both hover and fly.
  • The satellite armour are a combined shield and weapons system.

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • The boots on her suit limit direct hand-to-hand combat
  • Weak on ground based combat
  • Weakness to EM fields

Rap Sheet/Criminal Traits:

  • Kidnapping
  • Assault
  • Damage to property

Notes/History

CLEA’s code name of “Pointe man” is base on a play on words regarding the a military term, the change in spelling referencing the unusual boots worn by Amanda.

Like many of Citadel’s assets she appears to be a teenage runaway that was snatched by the group and indoctrinated. Rumours suggest that Amanda Ruiz was selected as a test subject to try an advanced alien armour Citadel had “acquired”. The suits orignal occupant appeared to walk on its toes and though an attempt was made to change the design, Citadel scientists found that is the boots were altered to become flat then it messed with the overall flight characteristics and made the technology virtually useless.

The downside of the tech is that whilst Amanda is very powerful above ground, her feet position when on the ground make it hard for her to walk any great distance and at the same time prevent her engaging in unarmed combat. Whether Citadel manages to reverse engineer the outfit and use it to produce more and fix the overall design remains to be seen.

  • Marco is able to release nuclear radiation directionally from his arms. At short range he can melt building materials but the power greatly diminishes with range.
  • Zhu appears to be able to release a massive nuclear blast wave but with very little directional control. Her energies are far more potent than Marco’s
  • Marco can also direct his blast at Zhu to supercharge her power.

Limitation(s)/Weakness(s):

  • Both need protective clothing to prevent them endangering their allies. Ironically Marco’s outfit looks very similar to gear worn around a nuclear hazard, but instead of keeping energy out it serves to keep it in.
  • Zhu’s suit allows her to regulate her power. Without it she lacks control and could be consumed by cascading energies.

Rap Sheet/Criminal Traits:

  • Destruction of property
  • Manslaughter
  • Arson
  • Attempted Murder

Notes/History

The Fallout “team” is perhaps the most powerful creation of the Citadel group. It is believed the two warriors were “created” after CLEA;s successful raid on a Citadel facility. Rather than allowing any evidence to fall into the hands of the authorities it seem the criminal group decided to make sure it could be destroyed by having a pair of people with the means to wield nuclear energy.

Though it is hard to get intel on anything involving the activities of Citadel, the identity of the partnership is known but does not reveal much, other than as is normal with many of their assets they were either runaways or prisoners at one time. In the case of Atomic and Reactor they were both runaways but from well over 15 years ago. This might indicate that some of the core illegal activities of Citadel might stretch even further back than the days when they were previously known as October. It could also indicate that they were simply homeless for a long time resulting in no official records.

However they came to work for Citadel, rumours suggest the group managed to obtain an alien capable of generating radiation. Scientists then tried grafting material to human subjects and the process only worked on two individuals. Marco appears to be the first success. As well as being less powerful than his partner he seems able to direct his power by channelling it through his arms and directing it towards a target.

Zhu appears to me a later success. Her radiation acts more like an area weapon. Far more powerful, than Marco this explains why she needs far more advanced suit to not only contain her energy but also to protect her own allies from harm.

Notes/History

Marcel Wimmer was just an ordinary office worker with a family until a clash between the werewolf Moon Claw and the animal hybrid Overbite saw the entire family wiped out.To avoid being bested by Moon Claw, Overbite had picked up the family car and threw it at his opponent. On impact the fuel tank exploded and Marcel was the only one to get out.

The tragedy was put down to collateral damage but that seemed an excuse to Marcel. Consumed by grief his mind cracked. To him his loss had been down to “animals that had been allowed to live in our society and needed to be eradicated.” At the police were not going to do anything about it he decided it was his mission in life to make sure humans society was for humans only.

After building a flame thrower he began hunting and maiming any impure “animals” he could find. This also included aliens. Essentially anything that was not a human became a target.

On numerous occasions he has been arrested but such is the support he has from right wing member of the general public, he had never been incarcerated for he somehow gets outside “assistance” which allows him to escape.
